Sometimes being an entrepreneur can feel like you are continuously content creating and not doing the tasks that you want to do. Content creation can become tedious, especially if you are creating every single day. Whilst you may like to work this way, I have some tips on how you can improve this process and get the most out of your day.
Have a ‘creation’ day every month – I like to plan a day or two during my week where I batch create all my content such as Instagram and/or blog posts. I can then ensure I have everything I need for the upcoming month and I have not spent hours and hours over it. A ‘creation’ day can also be fun if you spend your day with other likeminded females in the same situation. Batch creating content in a group has become one of my favourite things to do.
PLANNING
I know that I have had days where I have just sat there wondering what I should create and of course, nothing is done. Planning is key to helping you visualise what you want to create and how and when you will create it. For this blog post, I planned my title and bullet pointed everything I wanted to include in the content. Because of this planning, the post only took me 15 minutes to write up and so I could remain productive for the rest of the day.
RESEARCH
When I become overwhelmed with content creation, it is most likely because I have not pinpointed what I want to create. If you are unsure of what you want to create, research is key to helping you gain inspiration and finalise your ideas. It is great to look to others for inspiration and adding your own spin on things will initiate differentiation – just remember not to directly copy someone else’s work.
THE END PLAN
Creating content is also about what your audience require. Using Instagram polls and surveys can help you to identify what your audience are struggling with and what you can create to help them overcome these problems. I regularly post polls on Instagram so I can identify my content for the upcoming month, and my views are always higher when I create content that my audience actually want. As well as identifying what your audience require, think about how you will share this content with them, making the end result successful and exciting for your target market. I like to create short videos to announce my content for the week and this promotes individuality and highlights differentiation within my brand.
These are my content creation tips and I hope that they can help you in some way. If you have any different tips for me, please leave them in the comments below.
